Police investigating a robbery in York are asking for the public’s help to identify three men pictured on CCTV.
In the early hours of Wednesday 1 June 2011, at around 2.20am, a local 23-year-old man was robbed at knifepoint by three men on Bootham, near to the junction with Grosvenor Terrace.
The men threatened the victim and demanded his wallet before leaving the scene with the victim’s bank card.
The victim was unharmed but was left very shaken by the incident.
Detectives have released CCTV images showing the three men. One of them is described as white and was wearing a light coloured hoodie and a green baseball cap.
The other two are described as black; one was wearing a red hoodie with white writing across the front and a white baseball cap, the other was wearing a grey t-shirt and a dark coloured cap or bandana.
Officers are appealing for the men to contact the police and and cooperate with the investigation.
They are also appealing for anyone who can help identify the men from the CCTV images, or any witnesses to the robbery, to please come forward without delay.
In particular, police would like to speak to a local milkman who may have been in the area at the time. It is possible that he may have seen the suspects in the area or may have witnessed the robbery.
