Detectives are continuing to appeal for information after a woman was found shortly after midnight on Sunday in a distressed state near the Woodsome Hall Golf Club, Fenay Bridge, Huddersfield.
At 00.08am on 29th May officers received a call for concern after a 27-year-old woman stopped a passing motorist in a dishevelled state.
Detectives are now turning their appeal to other motorists who may have seen the woman near to the woodland or who may have seen a Vauxhall Astra acting suspiciously in the area.
From enquiries so far, detective believe that a number of cars passed the victim whilst she was trying to ask for help, but failed to stop and would like to speak to those who were driving along Woodsome Road after 11pm on Saturday and just after midnight.
It is believed that the woman was taken from an address on Penistone Road at some time during the evening on Saturday 28th May and abandoned in the woodland near the golf club. Detectives can now reveal she was probably transported in a Vauxhall Astra.
The woman was suffering from minor injuries and has received some medical treatment.
Enquiries into how the woman became to be in the woodland are still ongoing and forensic examinations are continuing of the areas and on the two cars recovered.
The two men aged 25-years and 49-years-old, a boy aged 17-years old and a 46-year-old woman all remain in police custody today after being arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector Lisa Griffin of West Yorkshire Police’s Homicide and Major Enquiry Team (HMET) said: “A dedicated team of detectives are still trying to piece together how the woman became to be in a dishevelled state near to the woodland.
“Enquiries and forensic examinations are continuing today in order to establish exactly what happened to her and I would now like to turn my appeal to drivers who were travelling along Woodsome Road after 11pm on Saturday night.
“We believe that the woman tried to stop a number of motorists to ask for help, however failed to do so until just after midnight. We also believe now she could have been transported in a Vauxhall Astra. It is important that anyone who may have seen the woman or the car comes forward to speak to me.”
