Police and Crime Commissioner for North Yorkshire, Julia Mulligan, and new Chief Constable for North Yorkshire Police, Lisa Winward, held a joint press conference on Friday (17 August) at Harrogate Police Station.
Lisa Winward joined North Yorkshire Police 25 years ago as a Special Constable. She joined Humberside Police in 1994 as, at the time, North Yorkshire was not recruiting. Returning to North Yorkshire she has served as the District Commander for York and as Assistant Chief Constable.
Lisa Winward has a passion for helping people, a passion that has driven her throughout her career. She is also running a programme of works called Transform 2020, looking to identifying £10m of savings. PricewaterhouseCoopers have been bought in as consultants to find those savings.
