Ashville College in Harrogate is celebrating its A-Level results as pupils achieve a rise in A-Level grades on 2017’s figures.
It’s A*-A figure has risen from 32 to 38 per cent, it’s A*-B grades are up from 61 to 64 per cent and its overall A*-C picture demonstrates a rise to 83 per cent.
Destinations for this year’s senior pupils include Imperial College London, Durham, Newcastle, UCL and Manchester Universities as well as prestigious apprenticeship placements with companies including PwC.
Ashville College’s headline figures for its 2018 A-Level results are:
38 per cent of all grades – A*-A
64 per cent of all grades – A*-B
83 per cent of all grades – A*-C
One in five pupils – A*/As in three subjects or more
Individual successes see Georgina Cornforth gaining 3A*s and one A. She will now go on to study Modern Languages at Durham University.
Despite suffering a major cycling injury in the lead up to sitting his exams, Eli Wright will now be taking his place at Newcastle University to study Mechanical Engineering, after achieving one A* and two As.
Peter Bowles’ two As and one B secured him a place to join accountancy firm PwC’s Apprenticeship Scheme at its Leeds office.
Many Ashville pupils will also attend institutions in America, including the University of Michigan and The American University in Washington DC following their achievement of an American High School Diploma in conjunction with their A Levels – one of only two schools in the UK to enable such a course of study.
