A Harrogate charity has celebrated its 80th anniversary with a “Dress to Impress” dinner held at Pavilions of Harrogate, on Wetherby Road.
The 90 plus guests at Disability Action Yorkshire’s celebration included Harrogate and Knaresborough MP, Andrew Jones; Mayor of Harrogate, Cllr Anne Jones; the charity’s patron, The Baroness Masham of Ilton; former international goal keeper Nigel Martyn, customers, staff, trustees, volunteers and friends.
The evening started with a champagne reception followed by a three-course meal and speeches from Disability Action Yorkshire chair, Neil Revely, ex-chair Martyn Weller and its chief executive, Jackie Snape, and was rounded off with dancing.
I find them all quite distasteful – stomach churning in fact ! I mean the smiling hypocrites, not the clients !
