North Yorkshire Police Authority is asking the public to nominate Police Officers and Police Community Support Officers from each Safer Neighbourhood Command area for the North Yorkshire’s Safer Neighbourhoods Awards 2011.
The Officers awarded the overall title of North Yorkshire’s Safer Neighbourhood Police Officer and Police Community Support Officer 2011 will be put forward for the national awarding scheme as administered by the magazine ‘Jane’s Police Review’.
These awards are an important way of recognising the essential positive contributions that North Yorkshire Police’s team members make every day to their communities and are judged on the basis of personal skills, local initiatives to combat crime and the officers working relationships within their neighbourhoods.

Jane Kenyon, Chairman of the Police Authority said. “This award scheme has run for several years now, and year after year, I and the Authority members are increasingly impressed and proud of the standards of our Officers and Staff who work tirelessly to do that bit extra for our communities.
“I would encourage everyone to recognise that determination and effort by nominating your local Officer and/or PCSO for the work they have undertaken and the differences they have made to make our communities safer in the last year.
“North Yorkshire Police’s Officers and staff work throughout the year without thought of being singled out but it is appropriate and an honour for the Authority to be able to pay tribute to their achievements through these awards.”
Nomination forms must be returned by Friday 6 May 2011.
