A cyclist has been injured in Harrogate with the driver of the vehicle failing to stop at the scene.
The 34-year-old cyclist from the Harrogate area was riding his bike on Robert Street and had reached the junction with Station Parade, near Waitrose.
It occurred at around midday on Wednesday 22 February 2017.
Whilst the cyclist was stationary at the junction waiting to turn right, a small, light coloured car travelled along Station Parade and turned right into Robert Street, but cut across the corner and drove into the waiting cyclist.
The driver, who was described as an elderly gentleman thought to be in his 70’s, then drove away from the incident along Station Parade.
The cyclist was taken by ambulance to Harrogate Hospital where he was treated for leg injuries. He has since been discharged and recovering at home.
