North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information about a fatal four-vehicle collision on the A19 in the Selby district.
It occurred half-a-mile north of Chapel Haddlesey, at the junction with Fox Lane, at around 6.20pm on Friday (9 December 2016).
It involved a grey Citroen C1 car, a grey Ford Ranger pick-up truck, a grey VW Jetta car, and a blue Honda motorcycle.
Sadly, the 24-year-old man riding the motorcycle, who is from the Goole area, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The section of road was closed to traffic until 3am on Saturday while police carried out a full investigation.
The driver of the Citroen C1, a 25-year-old man from Rotherham, South Yorkshire, was arrested on suspicious of causing death by careless driving. Following questioning, he was released on police bail to allow time for further investigation.
Officers are appealing for witnesses to the collision, or anyone who recalls seeing any of the vehicles involved prior to the incident, to come forward as soon as possible. This includes any motorists who came across the collision scene after it occurred, but did not stay to speak with the police.
