Harrogate Railway Ladies are still fixed firmly to the bottom of the North Eastern Ladies Southern Division after another defeat away to Ossett Albion losing 3-1.
The Railway outfit certainly had their best game of the season in terms of being consistent throughout the match, however in the first half Railways Keeper failed to save from two successive corners which led the score being 2-0 at half time.
Railways back four worked hard for the whole match absorbing a lot of pressure throughout the match and at last working as a group. Midfield was doing a fine job getting the ball forward and out to the wings and working the left-hand side to great effect, however the railway team are still struggling to have an impact in the last third of the pitch and at this level if you concede goals and can’t score then a long hard fight awaits!
On the 65th minute Ossett broke through the Railway back line and as Rails keeper came out to shut down the angle but the ball was slotted under her body to make it 3-0.
To the credit of the railway ladies they never gave up and with 6 minutes to go Emma Landsall found herself one on one and calmly chipped the keeper to make it 3-1, the game was quite tight between the two teams but as Ossett had three chances and took them and Railway had 6 but only took one the true sign is Railway are missing that final finish up front. Still a long way to go but the red and green outfit need to find a striker soon to start being a threat in front of goal.
