On Thursday 29 September 2016 Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust will be hosting its annual Showcase Open Event, giving patients and visitors the opportunity to see behind the scenes and discover the high quality care that’s provided to the local community each and every day.
The event runs from 3.30pm-7pm and everyone is welcome.
As always, there is plenty to see and do, with both hospital-based and community-based teams hosting stands.
People can visit approximately 35 interactive stands, several of which are new for this year and take behind the scenes tours. Attendees can find out about the Trust’s work supporting patients with dementia, see what vital services the community Podiatry Team provides and catch up with the state-of-the-art Sir Robert Ogden Macmillan Centre.
In addition, tours offer people a really good opportunity to really get behind the scenes, with the opportunity to find out more about the cutting edge research that takes place at the Trust, visit our private patient Harlow Suite and see how our Chaplaincy team offers support.
Free parking is available in Harrogate District Hospital’s public car parks and free refreshments are provided.
Sandra Dodson, Chairman of Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust said:
Our Showcase Open Event is always a really popular afternoon. It’s a really good opportunity for our services to demonstrate how they care for patients and local people both in hospital and in our local community. It’s also a fantastic chance for patients and members of the public to speak with clinical colleagues and see why we’ve been rating ‘Outstanding’ for providing caring services by the Care Quality Commission.
I’m delighted to see some new exhibitors this year including our Emergency Department, our 0-19 Health Child Programme which now includes four geographical areas, and our Dementia care team.
