North Yorkshire Police attended a road traffic collision involving several vehicles which has resulted in the A1M being closed.
Firefighters and ambulance staff were called to the scene near Boroughbridge, on the southbound carriageway near junction 48 at around 16:30 on 29 July 2016.
One woman was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary with suspected spinal injuries.
Police currently remained at the scene for some time to recover the vehicles involved before re-opening the road.
