The celebration of Her Majesty the Queen’s 90th Birthday by the North Yorkshire Lieutenancy is on Sunday 12 June 2016 in Ripon Cathedral.
It is expected to be attended by over 700 invited guests led by the Queens representative Lord Lieutenant Mr Barry Dodd CBE.
A call has bee put out to invite a unique set of people to what will be a very special event who reside within the Lieutenancy area which includes York, North Yorkshire and the area south of the River Tees (formerly covered by Cleveland).
In seeking to make the event as inclusive as possible, as many residents born on 21 April 1926 or 12 June 1926 (the dates of Her Majesty’s actual and official birthdays) have been invited recognising the important contribution they have made to Her Majesty’s reign.
The Lieutenancy sees this as the key event of the year and have invited a wide cross-section from our region to be represented.
It is important that the service reflects the celebration of Her Majesty’s birthday by the coming together of people from all walks of life within the communities covered by the Lieutenancy area.
A limited number of places will be available to the general public on the day which is hoped will be an occasion of great celebration
