Transdev, operators of the 36, and First Bus in Leeds have teamed up to offer a ‘£1 add on’ ticket for destinations in the Leeds city area for customers heading into Leeds from Ripon and Harrogate.
The Yorkshire-based bus companies have joined forces so customers on the 36, which serves Ripon, Harrogate, Leeds, can now buy one ticket on board which will let them travel into Leeds and then beyond the city centre to destinations served by frequent First buses.
Such destinations available on the £1 add-on ticket include the main city hospitals and universities, Elland Road for Leeds FC and the popular White Rose shopping centre.
It is one of the first times such an arrangement has been created in West Yorkshire.

Independent research showed that some of our customers on the route travel further afield beyond Leeds city centre, and this lets them plan their onward journey from the outset very easily, and at an attractive price.
Offering this ticket is in the name of making bus travel simple and more convenient for our customers which obviously remains one of our top priorities.

The ‘add on’ ticket costs £1 and can be bought from the 36 driver alongside any single, return or day ticket. The 36 runs every 15 minutes between Ripon, Harrogate and Leeds. The ticket is valid on First Bus routes within Leeds city Centre plus bus links to White Rose Centre, Elland Road and St James’ Hospital.
