Police in Harrogate are carrying out enquiries after a school-aged girl was found in a collapsed and distressed state under a bridge near the town’s Dragon Road car park.
Officers were alerted to the scene at 8.40am on Monday (18 April 2016) after a concerned member of the public called for assistance.
The girl was taken to Harrogate District Hospital by ambulance for medical checks which did not show any injuries.
The investigation to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident is still in its early stages, but there is nothing to suggest anything suspicious at this time.
Officers are liaising with health and education authorities, as well as supporting the girl and her family while enquiries continue.
