Youngsters at Belmont Grosvenor School in Harrogate have put some smiles on the faces of young heart patients in Leeds over Easter.
Staff, parents and pupils at the independent co-educational prep school, based at Birstwith, just three miles from Harrogate, have been raising funds for the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund at Leeds.
And as part of their support for the charity, the school delivered a batch of 50 Easter eggs to the children’s heart ward at Leeds General Infirmary.
Around 400 children undergo open heart surgery at the Yorkshire heart unit at Leeds General Infirmary each year – and 10,000 babies and children use the unit each year.
It is the second year running that the school has chosen the CHSF to support – one of their nursery assistants underwent open heart surgery at the Leeds unit last year.
