Local MP Andrew Jones attended the launch dinner of the Rainbow Fund at the weekend.
The Rainbow Fund is being set up to provide Harrogate residents and local schools with the opportunity to fundraise for additional equipment for Harrogate Hospital’s children’s departments. It is run by a group of parents whose children have all been helped by Harrogate Hospital and who are keen to ‘give something back’.
The Rainbow Fund’s patron is Jon Wells – Sky Sports Presenter, former professional sportsman and co-owner of Fit Harrogate.
The event was a black tie dinner at Brackenfield School and launched the group’s first major fundraising venture to replace the Transport Ventilator in the Special Baby Care Unit. Around 100 people attended the event.
Andrew commented:
The stories of how our local healthcare teams have saved the lives of very small children are inspiring. What we do not sometimes realise is that this is the kind of work that happens in our NHS almost every hour of every day.
That is why I am supporting the Rainbow Fund; it is giving something back to our local NHS as a big thank you from the people they have helped.
