A 47 year old woman in Ripon has been approached by an unknown person who tried to snatch her handbag.
The incident occurred at around 6.20pm on Tuesday 22 December 2015.when
The woman was walking alone along Firby Lane when the suspect approached her from behind and made an attempt to wrench the bag from her shoulder. The victim resisted and the suspect made off empty handed.
The suspect ran off towards Park Street. The description of the suspect is that it was a man, 5ft 6″tall of slight build wearing dark trousers and a dark baggy hooded top.
