Harrogate Police have said that they attended over 45 incidents in the Harrogate area alone over the black Friday party night.
Between 17:00 hours Friday 18 December and and 0700 hours 19 December 2015
- Over 10 Anti Social behaviour incidents reported
- 7 crimes reported including domestic assaults, drug possession and a burglary at a commercial premises
- 5 concern for safety incidents involving mental health staff / ambulances
- 1 missing person
- 2 road traffic collisions
- 2 Police Constables were assaulted with minor injuries
- 9 arrests for offences including burglary, assaults and public order offences
Inspector Alex Langley said:
It was a very busy evening across the entire of North Yorkshire and officers were dispatched to assist with many incidents.
We kept people safe and prevented many offences with early intervention to prevent offences occurring.
Harrogate Town had thousands of visitors throughout the evening and night with only a handful of people being arrested for unacceptable behaviour.
