Police have named the man whose body was recovered from the River Foss in York at around midday on Tuesday (18 November 2014).
He is Leslie Bell, aged 63, from the Monkgate area of York.
A post mortem examination has been completed and the inquest is expected to open and adjourn next week.
Police enquiries to establish the full circumstances surrounding Mr Bell’s death remain ongoing.
Although it is still not known how Mr Bell ended up in the river, officers say there is no evidence to suggest the death was suspicious.
