Free health MOTs offered by council’s Fit4Fun team

12 November 2014

Harrogate Borough Council’s Fit4Fun team are offering free health MOTs for adult residents of Harrogate and Knaresborough to help them stay healthier over the winter months and beyond.
The health MOTs, which are carried out by trained members of the Fit4Fun team, will consist of weight and height measurements, Body Mass Index (BMI) checks, and blood pressure testing. The results will indicate whether any health improvements should be made. The team will also be on hand to offer advice on healthy eating and how to lead a healthier lifestyle.
If you are aged 18 or over and would like to have a free health check, sessions will be held at Knaresborough Library on Wednesday 19 November, Fairfax Community Centre on Saturday 22 November and Bilton and Woodfield Library on Thursday 27 November between 10am and 12 noon.

Councillor Pat Jones, Harrogate Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Culture, Tourism and Sports said: These checks will help people understand their own health, identify potential issues and provide the opportunity for them to learn how they can make improvements to their lifestyle to prevent future illness.

Our Fit4Fun experts will be on hand to discuss how people can stay healthy and fit and will be able to offer advice tailored to the individual on healthy eating and fitness. So if you are aged 18 or over, want to check your basic health and learn more about how you can stay fit and healthy then the Fit4First team would be delighted to see you.
