Police in Harrogate are investigating a sexual assault on a woman in the Jennyfields area of the town.
The incident was reported at 9.30am today – Tuesday 14 October 2014 – which led to extensive police enquiries to trace a male suspect which remain ongoing.
The search was supported by the Dog Section and a police helicopter.
The victim is receiving specialist support while the investigation continues.
Members of the public are asked to contact the police regarding any sightings or information about a man in a dark jacket seen in the area on Tuesday morning.
Detective Inspector Nichola Holden, of Harrogate CID, said: We are doing everything we can to support the victim while our enquires are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
If anyone has information that could assist the investigation, please get in touch without delay. Even the smallest piece of detail could be important.
We realise that local residents will be concerned by the incident. To provide extra reassurance, high visibility patrols have been put in place while the investigation is ongoing.
