A woman has died following a road traffic collision near York.
At around 11.25pm on Thursday 3 July 2014, a grey Fiat Punto hit the central reservation on the westbound carriageway of A64 between Copmanthorpe and Bilbrough, before overturning onto the verge at the roadside.
The diver of the vehicle, a 38-year-old woman from the Leeds area suffered serious injuries in the collision and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
No other vehicles were involved in the incident.
Officers are investigating the collision and are keen to trace any other motorists who were on the road at the time the incident occurred. Drivers on either side of the carriageway may have seen what happened and they are urged to come forward with information.
