Harrogate sleep-out raises awareness of the homeless

A 24-hour sleep-out has taken place in the centre of Harrogate to help raise awareness of the homeless and vulnerable.

Those taking part were Neil Kitching, Lesley Atkinson, Jo Hoatson, Ashleigh Young, Sarah Rowland, Kyle Thackray, Corrina Young, Catriona Wright, Jane Horsman, Donna Barnett, Sarah Smith and Rebecca Percival.

Corrinna said: The homeless situation in Harrogate is often quite a shock to people and we want to do what we can to raise awareness and support for these these people during a difficult period in their lives.

We are approaching local businesses’ for funding, on either a one off basis or to donate a regular amount.

The event was aimed at raising awareness of the homeless in Harrogate, it follows a very successful Christmas party organised by Corrina and is part of Corrina’s Homeless and Vulnerable Project.

A free meal is being provided  every Sunday between 6-7pm at St Georges Community Hall on Mornington Terrace.

The group is a non-profit and they rely entirely on donations and sponsorship.
