A former fire station in Harrogate went under the hammer at Northern Auctioneer, Pugh & Co’s latest event which took place at Elland Road Stadium, Leeds.
The highly anticipated sale generated a large amount of interest before entering the auction room.
The former fire station located in Summerbridge was offered at auction on behalf of North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service.
As expected bidding was competitive in the room with the popular lot achieving a sales price of £178,000, well in excess of its guide price at £120,000.
The land opposite the station was also offered in the auction, and sold for more than double its guide price in the room.
Summerbridge station was one of a number of lots sold at auction from across the Yorkshire area, other key lots included a former police station and a Salvation Army Hall.
Paul Thompson, Director and Auctioneer at Pugh & Company said: You could see from the rostrum straight away that the bidding was going to be strong and the results confirmed that. As always, the auctions prove to be a very effective way of bringing buyers and sellers together, providing unique investment opportunities.
The company is now accepting instructions for its June round of auctions.
