At the March 2014 meeting of Harrogate Chamber of Commerce, M.Procter Opticians of Harrogate invited members present to donate £50 to provide a family in Tanzinia with clean drinking water – for life!
The 11 people who pledged £50 were entered into a prize draw to win a pair of RayBan sunglasses, donated by M.Procter Opticians.
The lucky winner was Sarah Martin of Retro Runaways, a VW campervan hire firm, based in Harrogate.
Diseases contracted by drinking contaminated water are the number one killer of children in sub-Saharan Africa. Just £50 buys a small, portable filtration system which lasts a life-time.
With your help, Harrogate charity ‘HG1000’ will provide 1,000 families with clean, safe water – for life.
