Police investigating a fatal collision have issued an urgent appeal to trace anyone who was travelling along the A65 at Draughton near Skipton on the night of Wednesday 8 January 2014.
At around 7.09pm, a male pedestrian was found laid in the road, between both turn-offs to Draughton, with serious head injuries and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
A number of motorists have stopped at the scene of the incident and are assisting officers with information, however, it remains unknown how the man came to be laid in the road.
Officers need to establish how the man came to be laid in the carriageway and are appealing for anyone who was driving in either direction along the A65 past Draughton between 6.45pm and 7.10pm to contact them as a matter of urgency.

Police remain at the scene and the road has been closed to allow a full examination of the scene of the collision.
The road is expected to remain closed for several hours.
