Pupils and staff at All Saints School in Kirkby Overblow are celebrating after being named as the top primary school in North Yorkshire by the Times Newspaper following the publication of school league tables last week. 100% of year 6 pupils achieved at least a level 4 in reading writing and maths, with 55% achieving level 5 or above.
The value added score, which measures pupils progress throughout their time at the school was 101.7, significantly above the national average, and all children made at least expected levels of progress.
The number 1 ranking tops a remarkable year for All Saints, in January the school received a good OFSTED report with the behaviour and safety of pupils rated as outstanding then in May the school enjoyed further success as it was rated as outstanding in all areas by SIAMS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools) .
While the school is rightly proud of its academic achievements it strongly believes in valuing each and every child and achieving the best possible outcomes for a broad range of abilities.
Headteacher Mrs Louise Newport praised the hard work of the pupils and staff at the school:
