Community organisations from North, East, South and West Yorkshire have benefited to the tune of more than £20,000 – thanks to the generosity of Freemasons.
A total of 18 different groups have been given grants ranging from between £500 and £5,000 from the Masonic Province of Yorkshire West Riding’s Provincial Grand Master’s Fund.
Those to benefit include scouts, junior football clubs, churches, hospitals and animal welfare groups.
Deputy Provincial Grand Master in Charge, VW Bro Jack Pigott said:
Once again we are delighted to be supporting a host of different organisations doing great work in their local communities.
Each recipient has been nominated by a local lodge or lodge member, and these donations will help them to buy equipment or continue with a particular service.
In the last 25 years the Province of Yorkshire West Riding has given almost £3 million to support local non-Masonic causes.
Not a penny of that money came from the general public; it has all been donated by members of the Province, their families and their friends.
