Promoting Nidderdale’s people, produce and places is the focus of a new social media campaign being launched this Monday (September 23).
Nidderdale Plus – whose role is to champion this rural area west of Harrogate – is using the backdrop of this year’s Nidderdale Show to unveil its “We Love Nidderdale” initiative.
Created by 21-year-old Nidderdale Plus volunteer Katherine Simpson, the campaign is particularly aimed at engaging young people.
All are being asked to photograph the “We Love Nidderdale” sign alongside their favourite Nidderdale view, place, product or person and send their photos to the ‘Nidderdale Plus’ Facebook page, where it will be shared amongst followers from around the world.
Photos can also be tweeted to @NidderdalePlus with the hashtag #lovenidderdale, emailed to admin@nidderaleplus.org or uploaded to Instagram with #lovenidderdale.
Katy Penn (pictured), Nidderdale Plus manager said:
Katherine’s ‘We Love Nidderdale’ campaign is a superb way of asking young people to help spread the word about our wonderful area.
We want as many people as possible to take photos of what they love best about the area.
These can be photographs of favourite Nidderdale shops, local products, best pint, local art, favourite place or local service – anything that represents Nidderdale to the individual and will demonstrate to others why ‘We Love Nidderdale’.
We’re launching the campaign at Monday’s Nidderdale Show because the event showcases the very best Nidderdale has to offer. It also attracts visitors from all over the region.
This fun campaign fits in beautifully with our commitment to support businesses and community organisations, promoting this beautiful rural area to the west of Harrogate.
The “We Love Nidderdale” signs will be available from the Nidderdale Plus stand in the Heritage tent at the Show and thereafter from its office at the Old Workhouse, King Street, Pateley Bridge.
