Police and fire investigators are appealing for information following a large barn fire which resulted in the death of over 100 cattle.
The cause of the fire at a farm in Snape near Bedale, remains unexplained at this time.
Sadly 101 cattle died as a result of the blaze which destroyed two barns, around 4,000 bales of straw and 1,000 tonnes of silage.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service and North Yorkshire Police are conducting a joint investigation into the cause of the fire which was reported at around 4.20am on the morning of Tuesday 3 September 2013.
Inspector Geoff Crocker of Bedale police, said:
We must stress that the cause of the fire remains unexplained at this time. To assist the investigation, we are appealing for anyone who has any information which could help officers establish how it happened, to please get in touch.
