Harrogate police are looking to identify a van which failed to stop following a collision with a red Rover.
It occurred at 5.50pm on Friday 26 April 2013, on Knaresborough Road, Starbeck.
The rover was driven by a 32-year-old local man with two children in the rear and was travelling towards Harrogate, when the van pulled across the front of it and headed along Wedderburn Avenue.
As a result of the collision the Rover was badly damaged although no one in the car was injured.
Traffic Constable Stuart Holden, of North Yorkshire Police’s Roads Policing Group, said:
It may be that the driver of the van involved is not aware of the collision. I ask them to come forward so that I can take a statement from them about the incident.
I also need to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision and ask them to get in touch.
I am keen to speak with people who work in vehicle repair shops as I believe that the van will have been damaged. Anyone who is asked to carry out repairs to white vans is urged to contact the police as soon as possible.
