Award-winning tourist attraction Stockeld Park is opening its doors for a new venture this February half term.
Best known for its Halloween and Christmas Adventures, the family tourist attraction based in Wetherby is now inviting guests to ‘Simply Skate’ on the real ice rink at Stockeld Park between 16th and 24th February.
As well as general skating sessions, lessons will be provided by qualified coaching staff from the Hull Stingrays ice hockey team. Taking place every weekday, beginner and intermediate level coaching will be offered with hockey activities to help develop skills on the ice.
The real highlight of half term will be the Ice Disco on Friday 22nd February from 7pm-9pm. And it’s not just lights and music that provide the atmosphere, as Stockeld makes snow fall across the rink, creating a true wonderland setting.
Andy Meeks, Skate Manager at Stockeld Park, said:
Simply Skate is about inviting people of all ages on to the ice, having fun and building confidence. It’s also a great way for the whole family to get together and get active outdoors in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside this February half term.
Having listened to customer feedback, Stockeld Park have also dedicated time every day for a Young Skaters session, where children of 4-7 years and a parent can try skating without older children and adults whizzing past.
This is the first of Stockeld Park’s new ventures for 2013, which will also see the attraction open for the summer holidays as well as offering event space for conferences, private parties and weddings.
