A group of seven entrepreneurs at Harrogate High School have joined the 2012/2013 young enterprise scheme with a company named Lunae Lux.
The team is made up of sixth form students from across years twelve and thirteen; Lauren Birch is managing director, Kathryn Allison takes care of the accounts, Jamie Richardson ensures the IT is all working, Tom Chamberlain does the marketing, Joe Blakey ensures the sales happen, Jack Fullerton oversees everything runs smoothly in operations and Lucy Wrightson works in human resources.
The Young Enterprise team at Harrogate High School said:
We named our business Lunae Lux because it is Latin for ‘Moonlight’ which goes well with our moto ‘Luxury with Love’ – all you need for a great night in. Our products are Belgian chocolate spoons in a choice of white or milk chocolate.
These can be purchased with mini marshmallows to add that extra taste of luxury to your mug of hot chocolate. To take that luxury one step further we are selling a range of scented candles; these come in Vanilla, Apple and Cinnamon, and Mixed Berry.
Young Enterprise is the United Kingdom’s largest business and enterprise education charity. Every year they help 220,000 young people learn about the world of work. Each group is given a business mentor, from one of 3,500 companies, to guide them through the process.
The group have had a trade stand at Starbeck Primary School Christmas fair which was very successful, and on Sunday 16th December they were at Ripon Hand Picked Stalls which was another successful event.
Forth coming events for the team are: 3rd February York Designer Outlet followed by ‘Venturefest’ 2013 at York Race Course on 28th February.
