Two local business teams have thrown their respective caps into the ring in a charitable attempt to prove that they have the best business brains in the Harrogate district.
Harrogate-based businesses Engage Mutual and CNG have both signed up for this year’s ‘You’re Inspired’ charity challenge, where teams are invited to use their entrepreneurial nous to raise as much money as possible for local charity Saint Michael’s during the month of October.
Based on BBC1’s The Apprentice, the teams of local businesses, groups and organisations will be given four weeks and a £100 cash ‘loan’ to undertake their own fundraising activities before returning to the Saint Michael’s boardroom in the hope of hearing the words; ‘you’re inspired!’
This year’s The Apprentice, where contestants battled to avoid hearing Lord Sugar bellow the words ‘you’re fired’, featured a string of business gaffs and both the Engage and CNG teams are keen to show the budding TV entrepreneurs how it’s done
Leader of the CNG team, managing director Jacqui Hall, said:
The team at CNG are always up for a challenge.
We love to get involved with Saint Michael’s and thought that this would be an excellent opportunity to use our business skills.

The teams will raise vital funds for Saint Michael’s, the charity that provides specialist care and support to more than 2,400 local people living with terminal illness and bereavement.
