In their second pre-season friendly,Harrogate Town came from two goals down to earn a draw at Ossett Albion.Town had the better of the first half with new signing Adam Bolder directing operations from midfield.
However, it was Ossett who drew first blood when Alex Booker found Marc Thompson who cut inside and beat Jose Veiga with a low shot.
Town retaliated strongly, with Jonny Allan heading a Dave Merris cross onto the crossbar and both Chib Chilaka and Luke Dean were denied by excellent saves from home keeper Jody Barford.
Some superb blocks and last ditch tackles by Ossett’s central defence in which Tyrone Gay was outstanding, saw them take their lead into the break.
On occasions,Town’s 3-5-2 system left them exposed at the back, and ten minutes into the second half, home skipper Adam Hayton broke clear and slammed a tremendous shot against the upright.Alex Booker was first to the rebound and steered it past Veiga to make it 2-0.
Both sides made numerous substitutions and Town began to turn the screw. With twenty minutes left Alex Meechan pulled one back with a shot into the far corner.Trialist Tom Corner shot over when well placed and Adam Nowakowski had an effort blocked by a desperate home defence.
On 86 minutes Rob Youhill broke down the right and his pin point cross was volleyed in by Lee Elam to make it all square.
Town missed a late chance to snatch victory when Youhill glanced his header just wide.
