A former head of physics at Knaresborough’s King James’s School has become the latest recruit to join one of the region’s leading renewable energy companies.
Gill Lacey – who also has a Masters degree in New and Renewable Energy – has been appointed as a consultant with Harrogate-based Clean Energy (Yorkshire) Ltd.
Her role within the growing business, which was started in 2009 by husband and wife team of Spencer and Tamsin Cassidy, is to offer her experience to home owners requiring advice about installing renewable energy systems, including solar panels, wind turbines and air and ground source heat pumps.
Clean Energy (Yorkshire) Managing Director Spencer Cassidy said:
Gill joins us at a very exciting time. We have just launched a biomass division and are expanding well beyond the Yorkshire region.
Gill brings some great attributes with her. Her degree in New and Renewable Energy is particularly impressive. She joins a team that has grown from just two at the outset to one that now is more than 30 strong.
Gill said:
I’m very much looking forward to working with the Clean Energy team. The company is recognised as one of the leading installers of renewable energy in the Yorkshire region.
It may be a far cry from the classroom, but one of the key elements in my job is to educate the public about the renewable energy options available to them.
In addition to teaching at King James’ School, Gill is also a former King James’ pupil and a University of Birmingham graduate, where she studied Chemical Engineering. She graduated with a BSc Hons and has a PGCE in Physics.
