A Harrogate hairdresser is aiming to prove she’s a cut above the rest when it comes to raising money for charity.
For Amanda Grant, who works at Kudos on the town’s Cold Bath Road, is giving her friends, family and customers the opportunity put themselves in her position and cut her hair in support of Parkinson’s UK.
Amanda, who lives in High Harrogate, hopes the hair-raising experience, which is being held at 7.30pm on Saturday, August 4, at Bilton Working Men’s Club, will raise in excess of £4,000 for the national charity.
Amanda said:
Already I’ve got scores of clients lined up to have a go at either using scissors or a razor on my head. I’m not sure whether I should be delighted or a little bit nervous!
My hair is currently just over a foot long and following the event it will be a just few millimeters in length.
However, it’s for a really great cause and, in addition to supporting Parkinson’s UK, my hair is being given to the Little Princess charity which makes wigs for children suffering cancer.
Those wanting to support Amanda and wield a pair of scissors, or a razor, can pay on the night, or donate via her Just Giving Page, which is found at www.justgiving.com/Amanda-Grant1
