Harrogate maintained their unbeaten record at York Street with a comprehensive victory over Boston United.Town started with Luke Dean firing at Ricky Drury after the Pilgrims failed to clear Craig Radcliffe’s corner.
Almost immediately,a nasty clash of heads between Adam Nowakowski and and Kevin Austin resulted in Austin taking no further part in the match.
Paul Bolland missed a chance to give Town an early lead when keeper Drury sliced a back pass, but unfortunately hurriedly shot wide.
Paul Beesley and Alex Meechan went close for Town, before a long ball sent Boston’s Ryan Semple clear only for him to be stopped by Matt Bloomer.
Undeterred, the Pilgrims pushed forward with Spencer Weir-Daley playing Ben Milnes in but Mark Cook saved at the expense of a corner.
With three minutes left before the break Marc Newsham brought down Radcliffe, to earn himself a caution and present Town with a free kick which Alan White hammered in after the home defence failed to clear.
A trademark Radcliffe long throw was only cleared as far as Bolland who shot well over.
On the hour,a long diagonal run by Lee Elam ended with him finding Andrew Burns who forced Drury into a diving save.
From the resulting corner, Adam Nowakowski powerfully headed in to increase Town’s lead.
The rock solid Matt Bloomer put his head in the way of a Semple piledriver to deny the Pilgrims, before Elam broke clear, one on one with Drury, but sidefooted narrowly wide.
Weir-Daley headed Gareth Jellyman’s cross just over the angle, and Boston’s, Man of the Match, Nathan Stainsfield, shot over as the Pilgrims staged a late rally, but Town held out to record a comfortable win and garner three valuable points.
