Police are appealing for information following a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision near Harrogate.
It occurred just before 9.45am on Thursday 23 February 2012, on Bracken Bridge, Hampsthwaite, involving a blue Peugeot 206 which was heading from Birstwith towards Hampsthwaite. It is believed that the car collided with a tree at the side of the road before rolling over and coming to rest on its wheels.
The 44-year-old Harrogate woman driving the car, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
The identity of the driver has not been released.
The road was closed until 1.30pm following the collision.
Traffic Sergeant Trevor Burton, of North Yorkshire Police’s Roads Policing Group, said:
I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or may have seen the Peugeot prior to the incident.
