In addition to introducing businesses and their services to the major players in Yorkshire’s construction industry, Construction Yorkshire devises meaningful social strategies to help local people benefit work-wise from developments in their area.
Phil Cooper, Director of Cooper & Hall, said:
Construction Yorkshire has a great deal to offer members and we aim to take to full advantage of their skills.
Our expertise is quantity surveying, and, with the help of the Construction Yorkshire team, we hope to be able to be introduced to those companies looking for our specialist services.
Having the Construction Yorkshire team on hand will also come in particularly useful when we are preparing our pre-qualification applications and tenders.
Construction Yorkshire Business Support Officer Richard Town said:
Construction Yorkshire is open to all businesses of any size working directly or indirectly in the construction industry.
Since launching in March 2011, we now have 60 members across the region raging in size from sole traders to some of the biggest names in UK construction, including BAM and Balfour Beatty.
We help members in a number of ways. These include introducing smaller companies to ‘buyers’ from the major contractors; auditing businesses and helping them to achieve social outcomes as defined in constructions contracts.
