A man walking his dog in Killinghall near Harrogate was seriously injured yesterday (24 Dec 11)
A collision occurred at 5.15pm on the A61 and left a 67 year-old man in Hospital.
The collision involved a silver Vauxhall Corsa heading towards Ripley and the local man who was crossing the road with his dog near the junction with Crofters Green.
The man suffered multiple injuries and was taken by ambulance to Harrogate District Hospital where his condition remains serious but stable. His dog was also hurt and has received veterinary treatment for what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the Corsa, a 70-year-old local woman, suffered minor injuries which did not require hospital treatment.
Police enquiries were carried out at the scene until 7.25pm during which a diversion was in place.
Witnesses to the collision or anyone who recalls seeing either the silver Vauxhall Corsa or the man walking the dog prior to the collision, are asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2, and ask for Traffic Constable Steve Wright or Harrogate Road Policing Group.
My friend bex was the one who rang the ambulance for them because it happened outside my stables I was told the dog shot accros the road and he ran out to catch it and unfortunately got hit.
