A 39-year-old North Yorkshire police officer, currently on a career break, has been arrested on suspicion of fraud.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said:
We can confirm that a 39-year-old woman was arrested by officers from North Yorkshire Police’s Professional Standards Unit on Monday 10th October 2011.
She has been arrested on suspicion of misconduct in a public office and fraud.
As this is an ongoing investigation it is inappropriate to comment further.
She has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.
