One of North Yorkshire’s oldest accountancy firms has launched an initiative to offer advice and support to businesses that are just starting out.
Lithgow Perkins Chartered Accountants, which was founded in Harrogate in 1958, will run a series of free events this autumn aimed at people who are considering starting a business or have recently launched.
Partner Joe Taylor said the sessions had been developed to provide information on issues of particular relevance to new businesses including budgeting, cash flow and VAT.
Mr Taylor said:
The seminars came about after discussions with new business owners and will focus on the needs of start ups, covering key areas that can be forgotten about in the early days as well as more practical areas such as record keeping and basic profit and tax calculations.
“They will be very informal and we aim to have a maximum of eight delegates per session to allow us to respond to the specific needs of those attending.
Each two-hour seminar will include a presentation, time for questions and an information pack to take away.
Bookings are being taken now for the first business start up events, which will be held at Lithgow Perkins’ offices at Crown Chambers, Harrogate on Tuesday October 4 at 10am and Wednesday October 26 at 2pm. There are plans to hold further events in the New Year.
