Harrogate Town suffered a first home league defeat of the season as Newport County scored four with no reply at The EnviroVent Stadium.
The visitors raced into a two-goal lead inside the opening ten minutes courtesy of Omar Bogle and a Kayne Ramsay own goal.
Further finishes from Thierry Nevers and Bogle again made it four at half time and ended Harrogate’s hopes of taking anything from the contest.
Simon Weaver had made two changes from last weekend’s trip to Barrow as Josh Falkingham returned from a long injury absence, joining Jack Muldoon back in the team in the absence of the injured Alex Pattison and George Thomson.
Town found themselves two goals down inside the opening ten minutes with Newport number nine Bogle involved in both.
The frontman dribbled past Kyle Ferguson before beating Pete Jameson from a tight angle to open the scoing after four minutes.
Bogle was in again five minutes later, with Ramsay’s recovering tackle only diverting the ball past Jameson and into the back of his own net.
Town managed to keep the rampant visitors out for just over ten minutes before it was three, Nevers finishing off a sweeping Newport move at the far post.
Newport claimed their fourth and final goal of a half to forget as Bogle again found the net, collecting the ball from Nevers after a loose Town pass in midfield.
Harrogate’s first effort on goal came in first half stoppage time as Jack Muldoon lashed an effort into the side netting.
Simon Weaver made three changes at the break with Lewis Richards, Tyler Frost and Warren Burrell all introduced, leading to an early improvement from Town and efforts off target from Luke Armstrong and Burrell.
Despite a more even encounter in the second half, County didn’t look troubled by what Town had to offer going forward, with County sub Lewis Collins reminding Town of the visitors threat with a well stuck shot from long range whistling wide.
There was time for a first team debut for Academy graduate George Horbury late on, while Richards’ thunderous effort from close to 40-yards nearly pulled one back for Town, but clattered off the bar on a disappointing afternoon at The EnviroVent.
