Police in Ripon executed a drugs warrant at a property in Aismunderby Close in the town on Wednesday (27 January).
Officers entered the unoccupied four-bedroomed house at 2pm and discovered a large cannabis grow.
Each of the four bedrooms were taken up by plants and associated hydroponics equipment.
Officers seized approximately 400 plants. Sergeant Andrew Tiffany of Ripon police said: “This is an unusual discovery for the Ripon area and we are seeking the public’s assistance to help identify and locate the occupants of the property. “While all four bedrooms were taken up with the plants, there are signs that someone had been living there.
“We are appealing to anyone in the area who knew the occupants or may have noticed anything suspicious, perhaps people coming and going at odd times of the night. “Or, anyone who can provide any information which could assist with the investigation, we urge them to please get in touch.”
