New Harrogate enterprise with innovative advertising displays

18 August 2011

Jason Odle and Ben Davis have just setup VIDA a new enterprise in Harrogate that places “eye-catching information and advertising displays in businesses”

Jason and Ben have known each other since school days at St Aidans/St John Fishers, but this is the first time they have entered into business with each other.

Ben has just spent 5 years working with local audio-visual company FTAV as an event manager, while many people will know Jason from playing keyboards in the local band kasiuss. Jason had previously set-up Bash studios and left the band earlier this year.

Ben Davis said :

I knew I wanted to go into business with Jason but initially we weren’t sure what we should do.

To begin with we worked in digital media but made a business decision to move more into advertising display screens.

We had seen a gap in the estate agent market, but quickly moved to other areas once we had got to grips with the technology.

When we tried the system we were amazed how well it worked and looked in HD.

The system allows businesses to develop a further income stream in a way that they may not have previously considered. The system has many possible installations from such places as  dentists, gyms, business reception areas, golf clubs, cafes and trade counters.

Client companies get paid a fee for having a display on their premises and advertisers are charged a fee for advertising on the displays. The displays show a mixture of advertising, company information and news.

Jason Odle explained further:

The technology uses a digital box that is connected to a clients broadband connection and to a large-screen display.

We can update any of the displays remotely remotely at any time many we won’t interrupt day to day business at the premises.

We are particularly pleased about a recent installation for GH Brooks, the building supplies merchants on Claro Road. They have a display in their main shop area and have decided to give all the profits to the Sadie Rose appeal which is a very generous gesture.

The latest installation is at Indulge on Hornbeam Park  using a 42″ display in their coffee shop area.
