City and Holbeck CID are appealing for witnesses and information after a man was assaulted in a Leeds nightclub.
The 31-year-old man was stood at the bar of the Mint Nightclub on Harrison Street, at around 2.45am on Sunday, 13 March, when he intervened in an argument between two women.
As the man intervenes he is confronted by a man who punched him to the side of the head, causing a cut to his chin and the inside of his mouth which both required stitching.
The attacker was then ejected from the club. He is described as white, around six feet tall, of muscular build, and clean shaven with an angular face. He had short, cropped, dark hair which was brushed forward, and wore a white or light-coloured long-sleeved crew neck top, blue jeans, and black shoes.
He also wore a metal brace to his right lower leg which he is believed to have shown to the man before he punched him.
Anyone with information which can identify the man is asked to contact DC Ian Johnson at City and Holbeck CID via 0845 6060606.
