Detectives yesterday launched a murder investigation, after an elderly woman died of her injuries following an earlier robbery in Gomersal.
At 1.54pm (17 June 2011) police were called to reports that an 89 year old woman had been robbed on Quarry Road near to the junction of Oxford Road. She was reportedly attacked by a man who made of with her bag and left her with serious head injuries.
She was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary but later died of her injuries.
The woman has been identified as 89-year-old Jean Myers, of Gomersal.
Enquiries are ongoing and a man and a woman, aged 26 and 25, arrested on suspicion of murder remain in custody.
