Willow Tree Primary School, one of Harrogate’s largest primary schools, is calling on local businesses to help support their playground equipment appeal following the following the condemnation of the old equipment in 2020.
In a sponsorship scheme devised by the PTFA, they are offering local businesses access to tiered packages starting at just £250. The scheme offers companies exposure across a number of different marketing initiatives and most importantly enables them to give something back to the local community and make a real different to the everyday lives of Harrogate children.
Willow Tree, located on Wetherby Road, educates over 500 pupils from age 3 to 11. The school are lucky enough to have expansive outdoor space for the children to enjoy but it is hugely under-utilised at the moment due to the lack of equipment. Plans include a new trim trail, learning lodges, an outdoor classroom and a range of exciting new play equipment, all designed to make the grounds a more vibrant and dynamic place to play.
The corporate sponsorship scheme is just one of the many initiatives the PTFA have developed to help raise the £49,000 required to fund the project, with a whole host of events and activities involving parents, carers and of course the children planned over the coming months. However, as a school serving a community which encompasses a wide range of social and economic backgrounds they really need the support of local businesses to provide for corporate sponsorship to help reach their challenging target.

After nearly two years of bubbles, isolation, no shared assemblies and limited opportunities to get together within the school building, the playground has been an important place for the children to simply be themselves and have fun with their friends in the fresh air. The new playground equipment will offer a safe, fun, multi-functional play area for all our pupils to enjoy.
