Police have said that the incident on Belmont Road has now been brought to a safe conclusion and a man has been taken into police custody.
Emergency services were called at 12:50pm on 25 June to an incident involving a distressed man on the roof of a building.
The road was closed for safety reasons and to protect members of the public.
